Athirappilly waterfalls is the most famous and largest waterfall in Kerala with the height of 80 ft. Located 60 km away from the district of Thrissur, it is a picnic spot for the people of Kerala and also the ones who come here for vacation. The greenery of the place is perfect for long walks and picnics with family and friends. Lying at the entrance of Sholayar Forest, it is also known the best as a part of Western Ghats.
Barely 5 km away is another one known as Vazhachal Waterfalls which is also famous as a picnic spot. These waterfalls are not only famous for its falls but also for the species found around them. Researchers have even found 5 endangered species here. One will also get to explore different species of birds here which can be rarely found anywhere else.

In order to enjoy the waterfalls, considerable time is required. Therefore, keep half a day free to explore the waterfalls.
The waterfall is at the distance of 15 minutes walk from the entrance. Therefore, it requires fair amount of walking. It is advised to wear comfortable clothes.
