Mattancherry
 
It is the atmospheric old neighborhood situated in Fort Kochi which is full of colonial buildings. If you are into history, you’ll find this place fascinating. The primary attraction of the place is Dutch Palace which was built by the Portuguese in the year 1555 and got renovated by Dutch in 1663. It doesn’t have that charm that you might expect from the palace. There is a small museum and rare antiques inside that include painting and the murals from Hindi epic. 
 
Chinese Fishing Nets
 
The Chinese Fishing Nets no doubt is Kochi’s most recognizable sight which has been there since the 14th century and is still in use today. The local fishermen will show you how they get operated in return for a small fee. Late in the afternoon, head towards seashore, buy seafood from the fishmongers, get it cooked from the nearby shack and enjoy eating while the sun sets.
 
Princess Street
 
The main tourist spot of Kochi, it is one of the oldest streets and also the best place to visit in Kochi. It is the place to go for art galleries, cafes, shops, tea shops, and souvenirs. You’ll also find the grocery store here so you can enjoy shopping here for groceries. The place is best for a walk in the evening. 
 
Kerala Folklore Theatre and Museum
 
If you want to know about the culture of Kerala, it is worth to take a journey to this privately owned museum located on Ernakulam outskirts. All the three floors of the museum are full of artifacts that show the heritage of Kerala. The architecture of the place is magnificent; also its entrance is made from wooden carvings. Kerala dance and art forms are the focus with stage performances that takes place daily at 6.30 PM. It is among one of the best places to visit in Kerala.
 
St Francis Church
 
The church which is located close to Princess Street in Kochi is said to be the oldest European built Church in India. However, it is most famous for this fact that it was once the architectural site of explorer Vasco Da Gama who dies in the year 1524 in Kochi. The church was built originally by Portuguese and was claimed by British and Dutch.
